2024 Detroit Shamrock Festival
Get your green on—St. Patrick’s Day is right around corner. Metro Detroit has a weeklong itinerary of celebration for Irish Americans to cheers to their heritage and the rest of us simply eager to have a good time. The Detroit Parade on Sunday March 10 follows the Corktown Races in the morning, when runners either compete in the 5K, one mile, or both (called the “Dublin Double”). Kids get the chance to run a quarter mile with parents by their side. Afterward, marching bands, pipe and drum bands, color guard units, and Model T antique cars floods the streets on Michigan avenue. On Saturday, March 16, Royal Oak will bring back the county’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade, filled with marching bands and dancing leprechauns.
A few popular bar crawls are available for those who plan to raise a pint in honor of Saint Patrick: The Shamrock Stroll will take place in Michigan cities including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Clawson, Davison and Grand Rapids. The Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl on March 16 returns and Greektown is also hosting a weekend-long party $20 tickets, which includes bar entrances, drinks, DJs, and a costume contest.
Any celebration of culture is a celebration of song and dance. The annual Detroit Shamrock Festival on March 16 will bring to the Detroit Festival Grounds music, food trucks, and green beer. Don’t forget to take advantage of our St. Patrick’s Day specials that Page Honda Bloomfield and Page Toyota have to offer this month!
